Praise Team & Worship

Why we worship
Are you curious about the music style at CMBC? Before delving into style, it’s important to understand why we worship. Our praise team is driven by a deep sense of gratitude and humility, recognizing that they are all individuals who have been saved by God’s grace. Because of this salvation, they are inspired to worship God by singing songs of praise (expressing gratitude for His actions) and worship (the heartfelt adoration of God). Their motivation stems from their thankfulness, awe, and love for God, which compels them to lead the music at CMBC. Their mission is to glorify God through music that pleases Him and encourages believers to worship wholeheartedly with their mind, soul, and strength. All songs must be based on the truth found in the Scripture. This is why we worship. As Isaiah 12:5 reminds us, “Sing to the Lord, for He has done excellent things; This is known in all the earth.”

Style of worship

Now, let’s talk about the music itself. Our music style is a fusion of contemporary songs, traditional hymns, and spiritual songs (Ephesians 5:18-19). Praise songs play a crucial role in our worship, as they are personal expressions of gratitude to the Lord for who He is and His deeds. However, the team removes repetitive lines that are prevalent in praise songs. These songs are mixed with hymns, which delve deeper into the theological aspects of God’s nature. Hymns are played with a reflective and thoughtful approach. Finally, there are spiritual songs which focus on attributes of God mixed with laments. Our Praise Team is skilled at bringing out various emotions and moods in each song. Additionally, they aim to maintain a low profile during worship, ensuring that the congregation can focus solely on worshiping God without any distractions from the team. The songs are all arranged to maximize congregational singing (not praise team performance.)
