Praise Team & Worship

So you may be wondering what the music at CMBC sounds like? Before answering that question, it is important to understand why we worship. The praise team is motivated by the fact that they are all fallen sinners who – by God’s grace have been saved. Because they have been saved, they want to worship their God by singing songs of praise (thanking God for what He has done) and worship (the action of the heart and soul which sincerely gives all adoration to God.) It is out of thankfulness, awe, and love of God that causes the Praise Team to lead the music at CMBC. Their purpose is to glorify God through music which pleases Him and stirs the believers to worship God with all their heart, mind, soul, and strength.That is why we worship. 

Isaiah 12:5
“Sing to the Lord, For He has done excellent things
This is known in all the earth.”

…So what is the music like? The style is a blend of mostly contemporary songs and some traditional hymns (Eph. 5:18-19). Praise songs are vital to worship because they are personal songs which thank the Lord for who He is and what He has done. These songs tend to be more upbeat and fast paced. These songs are sprinkled with hymns which focus more on the theology of who God is. Hymns are generally played to be more reflective and thoughtful. The Praise Team plays skillfully and brings different moods and feelings to each song. Another aim of the Praise Team is to keep a low profile during worship so that the congregation focuses on worshiping God without any distractions coming from the team. We hope you can come and worship our awesome God with us.
