(New) Father & Son Pastoral Podcast – Episode 74

What did Jesus mean when He told His disciples to take up their cross— was this about discipleship of salvation? Can Someone Be A Disciple Without Being Saved? Why would the promised King speak openly about rejection, death, and loss? And how did the disciples misunderstand what kind of Messiah Jesus truly is?

Is Jesus talking about how to be saved—or something else entirely? What does it really cost to follow Him, and why does Jesus address these words not just to the Twelve, but to everyone listening? As we walk through Matthew, Mark, and Luke, this episode raises uncomfortable but essential questions about self-denial, loyalty, public faith, and eternal reward. What happens when comfort competes with calling, and why does Jesus frame discipleship as a daily decision with eternal significance?

(URGENT) Service on December 14th Canceled

Due to active snowfall and temperatures remaining below freezing, we have made the prayerful decision to cancel church today.

Both pastors personally checked road conditions this morning and confirmed that, beyond the snow, there is significant black ice present, making travel especially dangerous. Black ice is one of the leading causes of winter slips, falls, and vehicle accidents. This is a serious concern, especially for our elderly members, those who walk into town, and anyone commuting into Colmar Manor.

Our desire is never to cancel gathering together, but we do not want anyone to risk being injured unnecessarily. Caring for one another sometimes means choosing wisdom and compassion. The church is not a building, and missing one Sunday for safety is not a failure of faith.

Please help spread the word by contacting one another so everyone is informed. Stay warm, stay safe, and take time to worship and pray at home.
If you’d like to be encouraged today, here is the latest podcast from both pastors:

(New) Father & Son Pastoral Podcast – Your Questions Answered Episode 3

In episode three the pastors explore whether forgiveness always means reconnecting with someone who keeps hurting you, and what the Bible really teaches about boundaries and reconciliation. Then they tackle a question from a curious young listener about whether Hell has different “levels,” and how that relates to different religions around the world. Next, they address an honest concern: Why does the Bible seem to value men more than women, and does Scripture actually teach that? Finally, they dig into a fascinating mystery from Genesis—why Adam and Eve didn’t seem surprised by a talking serpent.

Pastor Ken has asked what his favorite bands are the musicians while Pastor Kenny is asked to explain the writing process behind lyrics. These questions are honest, challenging, and real… and this episode brings clarity, depth, and encouragement as we walk through each one together.

(FYI) Sunday Sermon on Spiritual Warfare

Join us on Sunday (March 9th) as Pastor Kenny Jr preaches on spiritual warfare.

(New) Father & Son Pastoral Podcast Episode Released – Episode 58

In this episode, the pastors tackle a puzzling biblical question: How can Matthew, Mark, and Luke tell the same story of Jairus and Jesus so differently? How can these passages be harmonized to answer this apparent contradiction?

And what about the parable of the wineskins? Is it really about old versus new covenants, or is there a simpler meaning hidden in plain sight? Why does Jesus compare Himself to a bridegroom, and what does fasting have to do with joy, loss, and our spiritual journey today?
Also what would Jesus say about Lent? Join the pastors as they wrestle with the text.

This episode is entitled: “Dinner at Matthew’s, Fasting, Wineskins, and Jairus’ Plea” which is taken from Matthew 9:10-19, Mark 2:15-17; 5:21-24, and Luke 5:29-39; 8:40-42
